Get Ready for School

What names do we need to know at school?

The first week of school was a blast ! We learned the names of our friends and teachers. Mrs. Allison was amazing as our music teacher and Mrs. Nicole taught us how to use our gross motor skills in physical education class. Our favorite name this week was Humpty Dumpty. This egg was loved by everyone !

Science with Humpty Dumpty

The students dropped a raw egg and a hard boiled egg this week. We learned that when the raw egg is boiled it becomes a solid.

The Three Little Kittens

Nursery rhymes help your child with early language and communication development, build confidence and prepare children for reading and writing as they get older. We brought a rhyme to life this week as we pretended to be kittens. Each child had to find the mittens with their name on them. After everyone found their mittens it was time for pie. This activity helped your child with name recognition and matching skills.

Music with Mrs. Allison

Mrs. Allison played a listening game with the class. The class had to skate, gallop, walk and run to the instructions as the song played.

Little Miss Muffet

Nursery rhymes have a huge impact on children's language and communication development.

Children relish in listening to songs full of rhyming, rhythm and repetition. As the children learn nursery rhymes their language and literacy skills are thriving.

This class is off and running. More news about nursery rhymes next time.
