Building Unit:

Objective: Children Identify and Describe Squares

Each child received a square, either purple or red. We had a discussion about the square, focusing on its corners and sides. We also noted that a square retains its shape, even when rotated. Following this conversation, the children worked together to match their colored squares and create a large square together.

Mixed Media Hydrangeas

The children created an absolutely stunning piece of artwork to represent the letter V. They closely investigated the hydrangeas we had in our class, with some even exploring whether the flowers had a scent, leading to multiple different responses. The kids painted straight lines and used a repeated stamping technique to paint the beautiful flowers. Since this was a mixed media painting, they also applied watercolor to their vases. While water coloring, they identified both the light and dark shades of their chosen color for the vase, allowing them to create the illusion of water within the vase.

Tooth Fairy Visit

The children enjoyed a charming visit from the Tooth Fairy. Along with her assistant, the children were educated on effective dental hygiene and ways to keep their teeth clean and healthy. They also brought some unique tools to illustrate their purposes and explained how each one operates.
