Beginning of the Clothing Unit

Joseph’s Coat of Many Colors

This week, our Bible story aligned perfectly with the start of our new unit focused on clothing. In addition to reading the Bible story, we also participated in a fun activity where the children watercolored Joseph and his beautiful coat of many colors. At this age, watercoloring not only provides enjoyment but also aids in strengthening fine motor skills and enhancing hand-eye coordination.

Sorting and Tallying our Clothes

Red VS. Blue

The children learned about tallying this week, each child had to go up to the board and put a tally mark representing themselves, showing if they wore red or blue on that day.

Button Counting

In this activity, the children were given a number, and they had to showcase the matching quantity of buttons. This exercise connected to our curriculum unit for the week, which focused on clothing, as we explored topics such as buttons, whose clothes feature buttons, and the purpose of buttons.
