Life in Pre-k Lately!

Field Trip to H&N

To wrap up our Gardening Study, the Pre-K classes enjoyed a fun and educational field trip to H&N Nursery! The students had a hands-on experience at the pumpkin carving station, where they got to see, touch, and scoop out the inside of a pumpkin. They also put their observation skills to work during a nursery scavenger hunt, searching for items such as buds, rocks, pots, trees, and hay. To top off our morning, each student got to choose a pumpkin of their very own to take home!

A big thank-you to H&N Nursery for welcoming us and providing such a wonderful opportunity for our students to explore, discover, and learn beyond the classroom. We had a pumpkin-filled morning!

R is for Raccoon

As we explored the letter R this week, our students created a raccoon one piece at a time! Each day, we colored and cut out a different part of our raccoon, starting with the head, followed by the body, and finally the tail. On the fourth day, we assembled all of our pieces to complete our finished projects! This activity was a wonderful way to strengthen fine motor skills through coloring and cutting while also practicing patience and delayed gratification as we waited until the final day to put everything together. We wrapped up our raccoon art project by reading Raccoon on His Own by Jim Arnosky!
