Our Pre-K Garden
From digging and planting to watering and weeding, a study of gardening offers countless opportunities for hands-on exploration in a medium many children already love—dirt! St. James Pre-K was fortunate to welcome two Master Gardeners from the Miller County Red Dirt Master Gardeners this Friday morning for an exciting time of getting our hands dirty and planting together. We are looking forward to watching our garden grow!

E is for Egg Experiment
In science this week, we conducted an experiment by placing a raw egg in vinegar. The vinegar dissolves the eggshell, leaving behind a soft, rubbery egg without its hard outer layer. Before beginning, students made hypotheses to predict what they thought would happen. Some of our hypothesis were:
Miles D. - "crack"
Max B. - "move around"
Dante - "hatch"
Charlie - "stretch"
Hayes - "not crack"
While the egg didn't hatch as some had hoped, it was very exciting to see it transform into a "bouncy egg"!
D is for Donuts with Grown-ups
What a sweet morning we had on the Pre-K playground! We loved welcoming our grown-ups to school for Donuts with Grown-Ups! Our little ones were so excited to show off their playground, spend some special time with their favorite grown-ups, and enjoy a delicious donut together. There were lots of smiles, sweet conversations, and plenty of happy memories being made! Events like this are such a special reminder of how important family involvement is in our Pre-K classroom. We are so thankful for all of the grown-ups who took time out of their busy mornings to join us.
