Building Muscles!
Here we have an example of a middle school work out day. We try to hit most of the muscle groups. Pictured is a work out day without using any equipment. Exercises are always more fun when you have a buddy! So find you a buddy and get active!
When children move on a scooter in a prone position, they are strengthening the core and back muscles needed for postural control, endurance, and sustained attention during seated work. This activity also builds shoulder stability and upper-body strength, which directly supports handwriting readiness and fine more control. Prone scooter play also develops bilateral coordination, motor planning, and body awareness. The movement component provides vestibular and proprioceptive input that helps many children regulate their nervous system, improving focus and self-control.
Our next focus will be Badminton for our 1st through 8th graders. Middle school will play a tournament while 1st - 4th will learn and continue practicing their skills needed to play a game. Stay tuned for pictures!
