PE in February
We have had a very busy month. Our 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th graders were able to enjoy this beautiful weather by running 1 mile, around our campus, with a partner. The students enjoyed it and were excited to be able to run somewhere other than inside the gym. I will try to get some photo’s of them on my next blog.
Our Primary and PreK students worked with balloons this month. They used their elbows, knees, head and hands to keep the balloon in the air. Our Kindergarteners used paddles with their balloons to keep them off the ground. This is how we begin to get ready for badminton and tennis. In 1st grade we replace the balloon with a badminton birdie.
Pictured here are some of our 1st graders learning how to serve a birdie and how to return a serve. This is very exciting to watch as they learn and grow.
Here we have a class enjoying our Fun Friday! Fun Friday’s are how we end our week in PE. The students are free to choose an activity by using some equipment that we used this week in class. They are able to be creative with the equipment as long as they use the safety rules. They are also free to run on the track. In the picture above, we have several things going on. If you search some of the photos you can find some of the students choosing to work out during their free day.
