GOODBYE FIRST GRADE, HELLO SUMMER!

What a wonderful year it has been in our first grade classroom! It feels like just yesterday we were learning where to hang our backpacks and practicing how to walk in a line. Now, these students are leaving our classroom taller, smarter, kinder, and full of confidence. This year was packed with learning, laughter, friendship, and memories we will never forget.

We wrapped up our year with so many fun activities together! One of the biggest highlights was Field Day. The students raced, laughed, cheered for one another, and showed incredible teamwork all day long. From relay races to water games, the smiles were bright, kids were tired, and hearts were full.

We also enjoyed a special trip to the movies together! Students loved sharing snacks, laughing during funny scenes, and simply enjoying time together outside the classroom. It was a perfect way to celebrate all of their hard work this year.

Another favorite activity was spending time outside creating colorful masterpieces with sidewalk chalk. The sidewalks quickly turned into galleries filled with rainbows, hopscotch boards, silly drawings, encouraging messages, and lots of creativity.

As I say goodbye to this incredible group of first graders, my heart is full of pride and gratitude. Each child brought something special to our classroom family. I have watched them grow not only as students, but as friends, problem-solvers, readers, leaders, and caring classmates. They have filled our days with laughter, curiosity, and unforgettable moments that I will carry with me for a very long time.

To my sweet first graders: thank you for letting me be part of your journey this year. Keep being brave, kind, creative, and curious. Never stop asking questions, believing in yourselves, and dreaming big. Your next teachers are so lucky to have you. Once a member of our classroom family, always a member of our classroom family.

💗Always,

Mrs. Thane
