APRIL LEARNING

We still thoroughly enjoy a visit to the library, where students explore books, practice responsibility, and continue building their love for reading.

During carpet time recently, students eagerly shared stories from their spring break adventures. From trips and family gatherings to relaxing days at home, each student had a chance to speak and be heard. It was a wonderful opportunity to practice listening skills, build confidence, and learn more about one another.

Recently in first grade, our classroom has been filled with red, white, and blue and a growing sense of pride. We spent time learning about what it means to be patriotic, talking about how we can show respect and care for our country in simple, meaningful ways.

The students put their creativity to work by making construction paper flags. With careful cutting and gluing, each flag became a small masterpiece. Some stripes were perfectly straight, others had a little extra personality, but every single one was made with excitement and intention. As they worked, we talked about what the flag represents and why it is important to treat it with respect.

We had the opportunity to watch some of the older students take the flag down at the end of the school day. Our class observed quietly, noticing how carefully and respectfully the flag was handled. It was a powerful moment for our students to see patriotism in action and to connect what we learned in the classroom to real life.
