What are our rules at school?

This week, we discussed the different rules that we have at school. We dove deeper into the topic by discussing what rules are, why we have rules, and what rules we may need to have. We also discussed whether the rules were considered "big rules," such as we never open doors for strangers, or "small rules," such as how many people can be at a center at one time.

An important rule for playing musical instruments is to
learn the resting position. Controlling impulses is part of
building self-regulation.

Benefits of Old McDonald:

• Vocabulary Expression- The children learn the names
  of the different farm animals and the sounds that
  they make.

• Verbal Expression- Singing along builds the childrens
  confidence in speaking and articulation.

• Social Interaction- Singing in a group shows the
  children everying belongs and gives them the feeling
  of belonging and helps the children to learn to listen
  to others.

When do things happen at our school?

The preschool day is full of events. It is important for your child to know when
things happen at school. Routines help students feel safe and secure because
they don't know what is coming next and what is expected.

We wrapped up this week's lesson with a special visit
from Nana! One of the books in our curriculum is
Penny Butter Fudge, where Nana surprises her
grandchildren by altering their schedule. To our
amazement, Nana rearranged our day by inviting us
to make Penny Butter Fudge instead of sticking to our
usual routine. This special visit allowed the children
to practice essential skills such as following
directions, taking turns, and counting.

Our day became even more exciting as it came to a
close, allowing us to break free from our usual routine
and sneak in some time to savor the delicious fudge
we created with Nana!
