The paper had a notice that a local school system was having a book drive for their library. I had some books that I needed to recycle, so the middle school students and kindergarten agreed to look and see if we had any books that we would probably not read again. We could then donate the books to a school that needed some new books. This was a good idea, because it was something that our students could do without much parent involvement. Students were required to check with their parents before donating a book, and parents were asked not to go out and purchase a book. Our students were the actual donors for this project.
